An article about the Christmas stories and Nostalgia Trims published in the Grand Ledge Independent newspaper (click to enlarge).  A bottom photo in the article shows Lu Beale reading a Christmas story her children.  That photo first appeared in a December 1954 article in The Evening Star which provided some background on the stories.

The Evening Star, which ran Lu’s Christmas stories, ceased publication in 1981.
The Grand Ledge Independent ceased publication in 2023.
